The Usui System of Reiki Healing is an ancient healing art that was discovered in the early 1900s by Dr. Mikao Usui. The word “Reiki” (pronounced ray-key) can be translated most easily to “Univesal Life Energy”. This energy is all around us and is a part of all things. The Usui System of Reiki Healing allows us to act as a channel for this simple, yet powerful and life-sustaining energy.  

Through this hands-on process Reiki brings about a state of balance as it restores our health and physical harmony, soothes emotional stress, quiets the mind, balance the chakras (energy centers), and reconnects us to our spirit. When we are given an opportunity to relax and energize, our innate healing abilities are awakened and we can experience a deeper connection to ourselves and others.  

Reiki accesses universal life force energy which is also known as prana, chi, spirit, source and helps promote healing in all living things on the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels. Reiki is considered alternative healing, holistic therapy, natural healing, and is used in holistic health and alternative medicine worldwide.  

Connect with your higher self, learn the Chakra system, the history of Reiki, how Reiki works, how to use it to help yourself and become attuned to Universal Life Force energy and the understanding of the body, mind and spirit connection. Learn 5 Reiki Principles, which bring peace and joy into everyday life. Class combines lecture, discussion, guided chakra meditation, hands-on experience and includes a Reiki Session (an $75 value), and certificate of completion.   

Reiki can be learned and combined with other healing  techniques, massage therapist, hypnosis, hospital before and after surgery, hospice, animals, injury, yoga, etc.  

Reiki Training and Attunement  is also in Level II — how to heal others, Reiki III Advanced Level — Master Symbol and Reiki Master for Healing & Teaching others.

Reiki is a wonderful healing tool for all animals.  It can be used as a  preventative tool for the overall
care of our pets, for intervention when our pet is ill, and as an aid to assist our pet in crossing over.
I have been deeply touched by my pets through the years.  They are pure love and when they are ill or
suffering it can be heartbreaking.  During my first years as a Reiki practitioner I enjoyed sharing Reiki
with my pets and giving back the love they gave me.  I also was grateful to have Reiki with me when I
had to help one pet cross over and then even more grateful as Reiki helped me find my new feline
friend.
Recently the Universe has sent clients to me with pets in need of healing.  I have found that the
same with human Reiki, Reiki is not a guarantee of physical healing, but rather a guarantee of
connecting to a Source of peace and deeper awareness.  Some animals have experienced physical
healing from Reiki treatments and attunements, others have been assisted through their transition
with the aid of Reiki and Reiki Guides.
It is highly recommended that all those who care for their pets participate in a Reiki training and
receive a Reiki attunement.  Reiki can be an invaluable tool for the care of your pet as well as your

A Great Life Receipe….

A GREAT  LIFE RECIPE…

1. Take a 10-30 minute walk every day.  And while you walk, smile.  It is the ultimate anti-depressant.

2. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day.  Talk to Higher Self, Universe,God or  Creator about  what is going on in your life. Buy a lock if you have to.

3. When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement, ‘My purpose is to__________ today.  I am thankful for______________’

4. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.

5. Drink green tea and plenty of water.  Eat blueberries, wild Alaskan salmon, broccoli , almonds & walnuts.

6. Try to make at least three people smile each day.

7. Don’t waste your precious energy on gossip, energy vampires, issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control.  Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.

8. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a
college kid with a maxed out charge card.

9. Life isn’t fair, but it’s still good.

10. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

11. Don’t take yourself so seriously.  No one else does.

12.  You are not so important that you have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

13. Make peace with your past so it won’t spoil the present.

14. Don’t compare your life to others.  You have no idea what their journey is all about.

15. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.

16. Frame every so-called disaster with these words:  ’In five years, will this matter?’

17. Forgive everyone for everything.

18. What other people think of you is none of your business.

19. GOD/Higher Self, Universe or your Creator heals everything  - but you have to ask Him.

20. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

21. Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick.  Your friends will. Stay in touch!!!

22. Envy is a waste of time.  You already have all you need.

23. Each night before you go to bed complete the following statements: I am thankful for__________.  Today I accomplished_________.

24. Remember that you are too blessed to be stressed.

25. When you are feeling down, start listing your many blessings.
You’ll be smiling before you know it.

8 Basic Principles of Practicing YOGA

Principles/Foundations of Practicing Yoga

I see in me the Great I Am… Poised, powerful and centered in my Heart, I know I am blessed with special gifts to share. I am like a brilliant star shinning through the endless skies… a unique and exceptional Light of the Creation. I am like the tree that grows strong and tall with the love of the sun…the sweetness of the rain… I grow into my Self…branches reaching ever higher through the air… embracing the truths that nourish me.

There are eight (8) basic principles that allow us to grow into ourselves. These are the basic principles of Yoga. Each of us must nurture all these branches in order to grow and reach our full potential:

  1. Right Understanding
    1. I understand the universal Law of Return…what goes around comes around. What I give is what I get. If I plant sour lemon seeds I cannot expect to grow a sweet mango tree. Because I know that I am the farmer working the soil of my life, I also understand that I will harvest the fruit of my effort (good or bad) in the seasons that come. 
  2. Right Intention
    1. I realize the power of my intention…where there’s a will there’s a way. My intention is to live in harmony with myself, others, and the environment around me. But to realize my intent, I have to make it important to me. 
  3. Right Speech
    1. I realize the power of my words to heal or to hurt, to create something beautiful or to destroy it. I seek to speak the truth as I understand it, refraining from gossip, lies, harsh and mean-spirited language… I choose to use my words to uplift, nourish and make people feel good about themselves. 
  4. Right Action
    1. I do my best knowing that Greatness is within me…I choose honest, peaceful and pure actions because I know the law of Karma…I understand that my actions reflect how I feel about myself so I avoid all forms of stealing, fighting and violence. I take care of my body and respect it as a gift by filling it with the right foods, practicing Yoga, avoiding drugs, etc…
  5. Right Livelihood
    1. I choose to earn a living in a harmonious, righteous, pure and good way… honestly, peacefully and without causing harm to others. I recognize my relationship and responsibility to my community. 
  6. Right Attitude
    1. I discipline my mind to keep a balanced point of view… I avoid worry, doubt, laziness, restlessness and impatience… I play dodge-ball with the negative messages in my mind
  7. Right Mindfullness
    1. I understand that my thoughts create my reality so I stay aware of my state of mind…I understand the whole world through my state of mind. I know that I choose what is on my mind. Nobody can make me feel anything (happy, sad, angry).
  8. Right Concentration
    1. I understand that to bring these principles of yoga into focus, I must channel my mind…keeping my eye on the prize. Through Yoga and Meditation, I experience bliss, serenity and the power of awareness and self-knowledge.
